Welcome to the World of Nutrabaits Carp fishing, and consequently the specific needs of Nutrabaits users, are
constantly changing and it is no exaggeration to say that many of today's
products would probably have been treated with considerable trepidation, had
they been launched in the formative years of the company.
1. Matchwinner now relocated within Climax Fishing
Tackle. 2. Just part of the new superstore. 3. Grab a seat, the choice is yours! 4. A wide range of clothing and rods is always on display 5. Climax Twins Rory and Chris, working hard, as usual. 6. A big range of bivvies is also available and on display. 7. The full Nutrabaits range always in stock.
I think it was around ten years ago that I
first visited the Carp Cabin. In those days it was little more than an
attic-type room situated above Tony and Rory Flint's other retail outlet,
Matchwinner Fishing Tackle.
Things were soon to change, though, and 1998 saw the farther and son duo
relocate the carp tackle side of their rapidly-growing empire to much bigger
premises, about a mile from the original shop.
Inside what seemed like a couple of months, the Carp Cabin team were
expanding again, this time knocking the cabin through into the adjoining
video shop to make one retail outlet that literally bulged at the seams,
with practically everything the modern-day carp angler could ever need.
Most people, I suspect, would have been happy with such an incredible
period of growth and would have been tempted to rest on their laurels
somewhat, but then again Tony and Rory, and the impressive team that now
assist in the day-to-day running of their business, are not like 'most
people'!!
Early 2003 saw the latest dramatic expansion in the ongoing saga, as both
the Carp Cabin and Matchwinner were re housed under one mightily impressive
roof, just off the A61 in between Chesterfield and the south of Sheffield, a
mere 10 minutes away from either junction 23 or 29 of the M1 motorway.
I can remember Climax 2000 when it was a nightclub and the thought of it
ever becoming a fishing tackle superstore would have never dawned on
anybody... Tony and Rory, though, could obviously see something we couldn't.
The end result is nothing short of incredible!
Now renames Climax Fishing Tackle, the 10,000 sq.ft. premises has
dedicated areas catering for bait, luggage, rods, clothing, rig bits and
pieces, and bedchairs and bivvies, plus the aforementioned match fishing
section, all of which are superbly displayed in spacious surroundings. All
your favourite manufacturers are there, including Fox, Shimano, Daiwa,
Trakker, JRC, Korda, Solar and many many more. In fact, I am tempted to say
that if you want it, Climax Fishing Tackle can supply it!.
Bait is obviously a major part of what is on offer and practically
everybody's tastes are catered for, with comprehensive ranges of Nutrabaits,
Nash, Mainline, Richworth, Mistral and Essential, to name but a few, always
in stock.
In fact the space put aside for the full range of our own products
probably represents a similar size to the entirety of the shop that used to
be above Matchwinner all those years ago!
Climax Fishing Tackle's reputation is undoubtedly based on the impressive
stock levels that are always available, and the level of service that is
provided by the 10-strong team of staff that make the whole thing tick.
Congratulations must go to Tony, Rory, Chris, Sandra and new arrivals Howard
and Nikki... you are doing a great job.
We strongly suggest that you pay a visit to the all-new Climax Fishing
Tackle and, with that in mind, we have included a map to help you (click
Find Us on the navigation bar). Make sure you leave yourself a couple of
hours, though. You will need every minute of it to have a good look around.
I have been lucky enough, over the years, to visit many of Europe's
leading carp angling mega-stores and the best compliment I can pay Climax
Fishing Tackle is that it rates right up there alongside the very best of
them
