When I pulled into a very spacious car park at Climax Fishing Tackle it felt as though I was paying a visit to my local Tesco's superstore not a fishing tackle shop! The previous tackle shops that Tony and Rory Flint (the owners) have had, included Carp Cabin and Matchwinner. Although both very spacious in their own right, as time went on these two shops became too small to keep up with the demand, and a move was on the cards. The property they now occupy was previously a nightclub called Climax 2000, and as you can imagine, it really is huge. The now renamed Climax Fishing Tackle has over 10,000 square foot of space, so there is plenty of room to display products and for the customers to move around freely at their own leisure. |

There
are dedicated areas for bait, luggage, rods, reels, clothing, bivvies and
bedchairs. All the major companies' products are in stock, many of them in
the full-range - something you don't find in many tackle shops. On the tackle side of things they stock Fox, Nash, Shimano, JRC, Trakker, Korda, Daiwa, Solar, plus many more, and on the bait side of things, Nutrabaits, Nash, Richworth, Mistral, Essential, Mainline and many, many more besides. The match fishing section of the shop is also very impressive, and laid out extremely well, so finding a product is never a problem. |

The
staff are very friendly and helpful, and with a team of ten, there is always
someone around to offer advice and to help you locate a particular product
you may be looking for. Climax Fishing Tackle has a very good reputation for
both their mail order, and for always having products in stock. There is
nothing worse than arriving at your local tackle shop to find they don't
have the particular item you want. At Climax, you haven't got that worry. The opening hours are Monday to Saturday from 8.00 am until 6.00 pm, and Sundays from 8.00 am until 2.00 pm. |

To
be honest, I can only really make positive comments about the place, and I
strongly suggest you pay them a visit to see what I mean. Some of the locals
can't get enough of the place, sometimes making two or three visits a day!
