Immediately after the war the Ambidex reel was developed by J.W Young & Sons and proved to be an enormous success. Numerous different versions were produced up to the mid 1960's. Other models of reels were also being produced alongside the Ambidex such as the Gildex, Rapidex, Trudex, Windex, Seldex, Landex etc. and during this period the company employed close to 100 people.
