| KORDA HOOKS | ||
The
shape of the hook you use and the materials you use it with will make the
difference between turning bites into runs and turning runs into fish in the
net. The hook patterns recommended by Korda are exactly right for each of
the rigs they are used with, the length of the shank, a straight or in
turned point and the degree of the in turned eye all make a difference.
Moving into hooks was a natural progression for Korda, the patterns are the
result of literally thousands of hours on the bank, everything we have
learned has been put into these hooks. We called them Hybrid because they
are a crossbreed of all the best parts of the hooks we have used over the
years. The entire range is Teflon coated, this makes the surface of the hook
noticeably smoother which helps penetration it also stops the hook from
rusting so they last longer too. The points are super sharp as you would
expect, the straight points are superior at pricking the mouth and the curve
creates even more secure hook-holds. The barbs have been made as small as
possible to aid penetration but still enough to hold the hook in. Sizes - 1, 2, 4, 6, 8 & 10 |

LONG
SHANK HOOKThe Hybrid Long shank is designed for ultra riggy fish on pressured waters the long straight point will catch hold in the mouth faster than any other hook. The 20 degree in turned eye helps it to flip over in the carps mouth and catch hold. The hook is strong for its weight and will suit almost all carping situations. It suits open water situations where sharpness is
paramount and the angler requires a certain finesse in his presentation. |

KORDA LONG
SHANK X HOOKHybrid Long shank X is exactly the same pattern as the Long shank but is two wire gauges heavier per size, this makes it considerably stronger so it suits more demanding situations like fishing in heavy weed or near snags. The point is still long and very sharp but the thicker wire means the hook will take more punishment than its finer wire brother. |
||
KORDA WIDE
GAPE HOOKThe Hybrid Wide Gape hook is based on the classic Maruta Kinryu spade end hook. The point is very slightly in turned so it still catches hold quickly
but still creates a very secure hook hold. The eye is in turned 15 degrees
to flip the hook over quickly. This is a modern day classic without doubt.

KORDA WIDE
GAPE B HOOKThe Hybrid Wide Gape B is the same pattern as the wide gape but slightly heavier in the gauge to make the hook hold more secure. There is no barb to impede penetration so the thicker wire helps keep the
hook in. we have only made the in turned point pattern barbless because in
turned points stay in better once they are in because the hook has to turn
out the same way it went in which is difficult. |
